This is number three of the class blogs, so let’s say Samuel is finally absolutely recovered but sadly, Phoebe has now hurt her ankle - what an annoying thing.
This week in Yr5 we’ve had a lot of fun!  Except in maths …
Topic 1 – Maths
In maths, we’ve been doing angles!! Really not my thing at all, but really Mrs Ashman is such a great teacher especially with subjects you’re not comfortable with. But angles really? It’s all just a blur to me – Acute? Obtuse? Reflex? The only one I’m ok with is the right angle!!! Not fun.
Topic 2 – English
Now after maths, English is an amazing subject. We’ve been researching information for our class debate - should every child have their own iPad in school? I am personally against because it would be
1.    Smashed in the matter of a couple of weeks
2.    We would lose it
3.    And we don’t want the whole of our generation to be relying on the internet
Topic 3- P.E (No!!!)
Now P.E - get this straight, is not a good subject for someone with legs as short as mine. Ok – Mr M is a good teacher, but come on, getting hot and sweaty, not my idea of fun………we finished are gym routine -  so that is that.
Topic 3-Art
We are now starting to finish our barrier reef!!! Such fun!! This is my favourite subject, but fish? I prefer to draw portraits.
Thank you for reading our blog.

Post 2

This is the second entry into the Year 5 blog, so Im going to fill you in with all the laughs and tears of the last two weeks. The first thing I need to say, is that Hop-along aka Samuel is off the crutches - Hooray!

Well, its time to mention the work, so lets start with topic 1 - Maths.  Oh Gosh, not my favourite subject, that Ive got to admit.  I mean shapes they are not for everyone.  Polygons, tetrahedrons, trapeziums, parallelogram -  the list is endless.  But over the past few lessons the class is now starting to understand it.  The next task is to learn to spell them correctly. Which is going to be a bit of a task, but I am sure well do it. We have just started a new topic in Maths which is reflecting shapes & translating them. It was fun, but now most of us are tired as we have done them so often. But with Mrs Ashman on our side, it has been a fun week of maths and I cant wait for next week.

Topic 2 - English, the past two weeks have been really fun.  We have been learning about William Shakespeare.  Looking at stories like Romeo and Juliet, we have just started a new story written by Shakespeare which is Macbeth.  Although it is a really good story the words were really difficult to understand for the whole class.  So Mrs Ashman decided it was easier if we all wrote her a play of Macbeth so she put us into groups of threes and gave us a scene.  My group was with Polly, Emily and me.  We got a piece of lined paper and we started writing it on  our own. IT WAS SOOOOOOO MUCH FUN.

Topic 3, my favourite subject PE (yeah).  We have Mr M who teaches us gym on a Monday, we have been doing balancing, making routines up and climbing the ropes and balancing on them.  On a Wednesday we have Mrs Ashman teaching us Netball but if the weather is horrible we go inside and play silent bench ball which is really really fun.

Topic 4 - Australia, we have been looking up famous landmarks in Australia so we can make a leaflet and put on our board in our classroom.   My friends have been looking up lots of information so we can have a really nice colourful board.

Topic 5 - Art, we have been looking at aboriginal art.   We have been painting our own aboriginal art and they are now in our cloakroom with a little message saying what each picture is about.
